Aftershock Fiasco
So I now that this is yesterday’s news, but I was at work when New Jersey had an aftershock from the earthquake that hit Virginia yesterday. I’m not going to rehash all the gritty details, but suffice it to say that I never want to be in an acutal earthquake EVER. Having to race down 17 flights of stairs to evacuate my building was tramatizing enough without adding the ignorant people who decided they were going to just leisurely stroll down the stairs and such.
I definitely now know who plans on “going down with the ship” and I can assure you that I will not be one of them. I hauled ass down those stairs and made sure to dial my next of kin ( my sister) to let her know that she should come pick me up.
I’m really glad it wasn’t a bomb, but with the 10th anniversary of September 11 coming up, that’s immediately what popped into my head when my building started shaking. I’m kind of upset with so-called “Building Security” because not less than 2 months ago, we had an evacuation drill. Do you think they sounded the alarm yesterday? NO! Did security even know what to do yesterday? NO! They were literally standing around looking stupid while the rest of us were trying to get out of the building. (So upsetting). Oh and let’s not talk about the members of staff who were completely clueless because they NEVER participate in those bullshit Evacuation Drills and such…
In any event, yesterday was crazy, but it pales in comparison to the victims of the earthquakes that have struck in multiple countries of the world. I can’t even begin to understand completely what they’ve been through, but I’m happy that this was relatively minor.

I’m about to purchase shoes not for dressing up for all the interviews I’ve got lined up (severe sarcasm) but because these shoes are sexy and I plan on wearing heels more often so that people don’t notice that I”m so short.
I typically have no problems with 3 and 1/2 inches or 4 inches, but these shoes are 5 inches and have a platform which poses a bit of a problem.
Do I care that they’re not the best shoes for long distance walks/appearances? NO. Not at all.
Like I said this post is about nothing in particular. Just felt like sharing that I too, have a thing for shoes that is indescribable. Something about strutting in a hot pair of shoes…

That happened to me today and I just pretended I was talking out loud to my coworker. lol Awkward indeed!
Why do I have so much makeup at my desk? Oh yeah because I need to buy a case that can hold it all. I’ve filled the smaller makeup bag that I thought was sufficient to the brim. And now I’ve got pallettes and brushes and mascara all tucked away into a corner.
