Ready, set, GO!

College Grad, Seeking purpose and fulfilling potential. Learning as I go along the road to world domination. (or something like that)

But I'm a lover of the human race, so I share things that I think are funny, pictures of places I would love to visit, and I'll throw in some life details every now and again.

I don't accept ignorance in any of its forms, so with that said, thanks for checking my little piece of the internet. Feel free to drop me a line, or to come back and visit from time to time!

I think I’m going to give up buying nail polish for Lent.

Now before any of you decide that’s too easy, or what a pointless activity buying nail polish is, let me just say that I buy nail polish the same way in which one would buy their weekly groceries.

I just contemplated what all I would have to give up to buy Julep’s new Spring Neons Collection on Coterie. That’s how much I LOVE nail polish and painting my fingernails.

I am about ready to hang a shelf on the wall so that I can appreciate them properly. Last year I gave up meat for the entire Lenten season, but this year I might have to give the nail polish-buying a time out. These are the things I ponder…

Don’t judge me.

So my parents and I FINALLY moved back into our house on Martin Luther King Junior Day. It’s been a week and I almost can’t believe it. Most of our stuff is now in our house but since my parents had the flu (and I thought I was coming down with it too, but luckily I didn’t) we’re moving things out of boxes and back to where they would normally be gradually.

My mom caught the flu on the DAY of her birthday (January 24th)  which sucked because she’s only now feeling as though she isn’t going to pass out from being so weak. My poor dad caught her flu on Saturday and he’s going to need a little bit longer to feel better.

I’m really excited to be able to roll around in MY bed (as opposed to that twin flimsy thing I was sleeping on for the past 3 or so months)… Superstorm Sandy seems ages away, and I know a lot of people have moved on, but I truly feel blessed that we had a house to come back to.

For all the complaining I did while we were without a stable place to stay in the aftermath of the storm, I’m so grateful to return to my house with the fresh new paint smell (and the shiny-again hardwood floors).

Now I have to unpack my stuff and arrange my room so that I’m not tripping over stuff every day. (That’ll be a struggle) But I’m unpacking a few things here and there as I can. It’s crazy to think about the crap-tastic apartment a town over we were living in, and my brand-spanking new home. Too excited for all the possibilities.

Tumblr was all kinds of crazy while I went on hiatus.

Seriously cannot WAIT until our house is fixed! I miss my bed SO MUCH!!!!

This being displaced shizzz is for the birds…

Oh HAPPY 2013! Here’s hoping this year is tons better than last.

I worked out yesterday after not having worked out in way too long, and even though I thought I was going to die, I SURVIVED! Now that I’m the only child living at home, I have the entire livingroom to use as my workout/chill/eat area.

I’ve upped my water intake and even though I’m rushing to the bathroom every 10 minutes or so, it’s going to be worth it. Also making sure to have more fruit in my life. Ideally I’d like to grab some fruit or some water when I get a food craving, but I’m learning to count out the food instead of inhaling an entire serving too much for me.

And this is the most you’ll see of me typing in such a manner. I don’t want to come off as a blowhard. And my friends IRL know my struggles with food, so that’s enough of this…

began as sort of a hot mess. I do not want to get into Maine. My brother is moved in, I’m back in the tri-state, and that’s it.

I definitely spent Sunday and yesterday mostly on the couch or on my bed with Netflix. My back is still bothering me, but this Pumpkin coffee is (currently) working wonders for my mood anyhow…

I started watching Luther on Netflix and HOTDAMN it if I’m not in love with Warren Brown! (and Idris Elba, duh) I’m about to make it my business to watch anything and everything that he’s ever been in because dude is fine! I didn’t finish Luther because I’m a weirdo like that, so I started watching Flashpoint. I’m so glad I can watch the OG Pink Power Ranger (Amy Jo Johnson) kicking butt as a sniper/sometimes negotiator on this show! It’s so good. Clearly I need better hobbies than obsessively watching series on Netflix.

I suppose I could have spent my time better but this weekend was an emotional roller-coaster. Let me get through today and then I’ll see what I can improve upon tomorrow.

Doing my last-minute checklist of things to pack for our drive up to Maine later this morning.

My brother will be attending Bates College but first we have to get his stuff to campus. Then attend some pre-planned activities, and then drive back to NJ.

I tend to overpack, but in lieu of forgetting some essentials, I wrote them down on an index card.

I get to visit some states in the US that I’ve never been to. Plus, I’ll be putting my new portable DVD player to work.

What a car ride this shall be!

started a conversation with someone, when you knew in your gut that you should probably keep to yourself?

That happens to me on the daily. I start speaking just to put an idea/topic out of my head and then shortly I’m regretting that decision because sometimes people just like to hear the sound of their own nonsense. Or how about those people who really have a one-track mind that like to voice their opinion as fact? They only want to hear that you agree with them about their nonsense, and don’t you dare beg to differ…

Surrounded by it. Don’t let me become one of those people.

nothing of import gets done in my house before the coffee-drinkers get their daily java fixes.

reading about what others are reading. Send me book suggestions!

I just finished Book 4 of the Song of Ice and Fire series and I’m not reading Book 5 until Book 6 comes out (which might not be for a long time). Plus I’ve got tons of Jane Austen waiting on my floor since my bookshelf isn’t big enough for all those books I bought and never read. Lol True story.

The good: the weather, our time, I raised almost $250.00!!

The bad: I might have strained something in my thigh, my legs won’t do what I tell them to do when I tell them to do it, my mood because of the crappy weather… Oh and it’s MONDAY - ________-
