If you’re in college, make sure your studying what you want to be studying instead of what your parents think you should be studying.
Sometime parents think they’re doing you a favor by cutting down your dreams for your life. But they aren’t supposed to “get it”. You need to do what you LOVE regardless of whether your parents think you’ll be a contributing member of society.
My parents talked me out of what I initially wanted to major in when I first started college. Fast forward to today, after I lost 3 years of my life trying to make them happy.
I’ve had to learn the hard way that you’re not supposed to share your dreams with everyone because unfortunately most of the time, it’s those people who are the closest to you who will try to SHUT YOU DOWN.
Eff what they say, I know what I like, and I’m the one who needs to live my life so I’m done with trying to make anyone besides MYSELF happy.
My parents’ house is where dreams go to die. And I’m a little sad about that, but I’m working on getting out of here. I need to be somewhere I feel comfortable being myself…
