Ready, set, GO!

College Grad, Seeking purpose and fulfilling potential. Learning as I go along the road to world domination. (or something like that)

But I'm a lover of the human race, so I share things that I think are funny, pictures of places I would love to visit, and I'll throw in some life details every now and again.

I don't accept ignorance in any of its forms, so with that said, thanks for checking my little piece of the internet. Feel free to drop me a line, or to come back and visit from time to time!

and wait until my mom gets back home.

She went to escort my grandmother to Haiti last Monday and was due to return this past Monday; however my mom decided to liven it up. Don’t ask me how but she missed her flight on Monday. So she’s put on standby for Tuesday. So Tuesday comes and goes and she’s not able to get on any flights! My sister says there was lots of freaking out being done…

Fast forward to today when she finally was confirmed for a flight and has actually touched down back in the good ol’ US of A. I wanted to be a part of her welcoming party at JFK, but since my dad had to be at his doctors’ in NYC he just stayed in the city.

So instead I’m just browsing the web and waiting at the window for when her Sienna lights hit my eyes so I can run to the door and rummage through her luggage. It really doesn’t matter how old I get, I will always be a mama’s girl. *le sigh*

I can’t wait to hear why she missed her flight… And see how many smuggled items she managed to get through JFK security.

I saw The Descendants tonight with my sister, and before the movie was done I had to contain an ugly cry. Oh my stars, I thought I was going to lose it, but another girl in the theater had a break-down. She was crying as if we were watching her life story unfolding on the big screen. Her break-down broke the ugly cry train that was chugging its way to the surface. It was a great movie, and I have to say Scottie stole the show. I watched her and thought, this is the kind of smart aleck kid I’m going to have in the future, and I should prepare myself now.

The cinematography was fantastic! I kept imagining myself moving to Hawaii, and I was taken away with the soundtrack of the film as well. Yes, George Clooney can act, but we already knew that. I loved his rapport with Shailene Woodley from Secret Life of the American Teenage. It was good seeing her in a more mature role for once.

All in all, I wouldn’t advise going to see this film if you’re in a bad mood, but other than that I would suggest seeing it if you can. It’s good for a cathartic cry. Also the plot is one that I feel resonates more since it’s not an easy-fix situation (as most Hollywood movies are). The characters are complex, the situations are messy and it really makes you think afterward.

Is that the next frontier for me?

I think I would gather up some girlfriends, pre-game with some vino, and jump in headfirst.

But where and with whom shall I go??

Having bought SafetySuit’s album earlier today and having them as the featured artist on Itunes has made me so incredibly happy and proud to say that I’m a fan!

They’re currently the #2 album on Itunes (Queen Adele is still #1) but I can’t believe I waited pretty much 3 years for this new record and it’s finally here! I’ve been stalking the SafetySuit app all day and reading the band’s tweets on Twitter and I just feel so happy to be a part of their journey to greatness.

If you have no idea who I’m talking about, do yourself a favor and log onto Itunes. They’re the featured band of the week and their single “These Times” is FREE to download. Then I suggest you go back and listen to the music off their first record because the way in which these guys have progressed is very impressive!

I’m pretty sure I’ll be posting lots of lyrics to some of my favorite songs off the new album soon. But right now I have to stop pretending like I don’t have to be up in a few hours for work.

Happy Tumbling!

I am against the elderly who think that because they’re old, they can do and say what they want and whenever they want. Don’t be fooled by those seemingly sweet old people who are playing you to see just how far you will bend to their ridiculous requests.

Some of those people pretending that they don’t know any better know full well what the hell they’re doing. And you’re letting them get away with it. Not this girl! 2012 is going to be amazing. Every day I feel myself being more assertive about what I will and won’t accept. I can’t wait to flourish!

I wish I could get into detail, but I was going to go off today. Luckily, Thursdays are my Fridays and I’ll be relaxing in the house tomorrow through Monday because of the holiday weekend.

I’m just sitting here after going through about 200 some-odd pages of posts just because.

Technically I’m supposed to be looking up certificate programs (another story) but Tumblr is obviously way more entertaining.

So guess who got cramps for Christmas? THIS GAL! Needless to say, I was not feeling the Christmas spirit. I spent my holiday locked up in my room watching every episode of Revenge.

Now I’m watching my little brother playing with the fabulous PS3 game I bought him for Christmas: Arkham City. (It’s more entertaining to watch than FIFA or Gran Turismo…)

I’m off to read more posts, poke around certificate programs (at some point), and generally be a bum.

Good night to you all!

Maybe not necessarily my own, but close enough. My best friend is ENGAGED!!!!

I’m so excited for wedding planning, and bridesmaid dresses, and FUTURE MRS. ____ hoodies!

I was on my way home from my cousin’s baby shower (she’s due very shortly) and my bff called, but I didn’t pick up because I was on the verge of falling asleep. But when I listened to her voice mail message, I perked right up! My sister and I were making our way to the Holland Tunnel from my aunt’s apartment in Brooklyn and we really quickly screamed our excitement into my BFF’s phone. It was so fun!

I’m really happy that her fiance has finally asked the big question that we knew was coming. She’s been itching to have her engagement ring and now it’s safely nestled on her finger. (Her diamond is HUGE! I so approve!)

In any event, this was a good weekend. My cousin’s baby shower went off without any major hitches. (which is saying a lot because my mom, aunt and grandmother were on the verge of starting WWIII) I met her husband and they’re really cute.

She’s having a boy and even though little boy things aren’t as cute as little girl things (my personal opinion) it was fun watching her open all his things. She got a lot of clothes for him, which is great because babies go through clothes so fast. And he’s going to be born in the winter which means she’ll need lots of layers to keep him warm and toasty.

Such a great weekend for my friends and family! I’m excited for 2011 to be over and to see all that year 2012 has in store for myself and my loved ones.

and everyone keeps asking me what I’m doing for it. And I don’t have an answer yet. I think I’m caught up in the fact that I really thought that life would be different  (better) than last year. But it’s not really that new or improved.

I want to do stuff with my friends, but they’re all over the place, and I hate planning and then I hate having to listen to the people who make excuses for why I didn’t see/hear from them because of X, Y & Z. I’m over it. I might just celebrate with a bottle of wine by myself at this rate.

I feel badly for the people want to do fun stuff with me, but are jobless, so I don’t want to rub things in their face. (at the same time I want to go out and such) So I’m having trouble trying to balance things out at the moment. I probably won’t reach equilibrium until a couple days before my birthday gets here.

Libra Season is in full effect though!
